I just wanted to take time today to the game makers of today that narrative can both be expressed in action and words (just don’t your audience how to feel). Theirs no reason not to choose both when your creating games. Games like the Mass Effect used both lore filled readings and rich action narrative to get there story across. They both added depth to there universe. Words are best suited for descriptions of items or NPC’s while there terrible for telling the player how they should feel directly. It’s the opposite for actions. Actions and moment on the other had can convey emotions and demonstrate how to feel on a sub-conscious level. But make too many cut scenes or start focusing on things that lose the players attention, and then they’ll start ignoring you or the world you’ve created.
